VMS will have brick in walkway at Museum of Veterans....

The Museum of Veterans and Military History in Vilonia has announced a brick will be placed in a walkway at the museum honoring students at VMS for their donation to the museum's rebuilding project after it was downed by the April tornado.  The brick will say Vilonia Middle School 2014-15.

Terina Atkins, media specialist at Vilonia Middle School, estimated about 500 students participated in the Red, White and Blue Social held Friday night with the proceeds going to the Museum of Veterans and Military History which was downed by the April tornado.

Seventh grader Karigan Broach at Vilonia Middle School said she will carry on the work of her hero Angela Payne—to raise money for cancer research. Buckets painted turquoise are placed around the Middle School. On them, it reads September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Join me in honor of our friend Angela Payne.

Eagle Extravaganza to be held at VMS gym Nov. 7....

You can shop until you drop, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Nov. 7, at the  Eagle Extravaganza at the Vilonia Middle School gym. We are looking for vendors. Booth space is $40 until Oct. 24. After that date, the cost will be $60. All proceeds will benefit the Vilonia Community Angel Tree again this year. For more information, contact Jodi Brewer.

The Vilonia School District’s fourth annual Wellness Fair will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., October 21, at the Vilonia Middle School cafeteria.
Open to the public, the Wellness Fair will feature about 20 differen vendors from the Little Rock, Conway and Vilonia areas.    There will also be door prizes and a silent auction. A Delete Blood Cancer Bone Marrow Donor Drive, honoring Jerry Roberts, is being held from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m., Sunday, October 12, at the Vilonia High School cafeteria.  The goal is to test 1,000 people and find a match for Vilonia’s “hometown hero,” said Carla Mitchell Atkinson, who is helping to head up the drive.
