Faulkner County Master Gardeners Scholarship

  • DEADLINE: March 10, 2016

  • Awards: $1,000 scholarship to residents of Conway, Faulkner, and Perry Counties.  Additional scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the scholarship committee.

  • Preference will be given to residents of these counties who are pursuing a post-secondary degree in a plant science related field which includes, but is not limited to, horticulture, botany, agronomy, forestry, plant science, turf management and landscape architecture and/or design.

Conway Regional Health Foundation

  • DEADLINE: February 29, 2015

  • Awards:

    • Six Conway Regional Medical Staff ($1,500) - all area students currently enrolled or beginning their education in a health related career are invited to apply.

    • One Dr. William Furlow Medical Staff ($1,500) - all area students currently enrolled or beginning their education in a health related career are invited to apply.

    • Two Dr. James S. Garrison ($2,500) - all area students currently enrolled or beginning their education in a health related career are invited to apply.

    • One Janice and John Robbins ($1,500)

    • One Mary Ann Stiefvater Medical Information ($1,500) - all area students currently enrolled or beginning their education in medical information and records are invited to apply.

    • The following scholarships are available for Conway Regional employees or family members only:

Fellowship of Christian Athletes Scholarship - Cliff Garrison

  • DEADLINE: April 8

  • Award: To be determined

  • What to do: submit application form, high school transcript, essay (250 word minimum/500 word maximum), 3 letters of recommendation (youth pastor, school counselor, high school coach)

  • Come to the counselor’s office for an application

 

UAMS Mash Two Week Program

  • Students interested in a career in the medical field are encouraged to apply.

  • Students must possess a minimum GPA of 2.75, completed Biology, and are committed to attending the full two weeks.

  • Application deadline: March 15

  • During the two weeks, students will take part in the following:

    • receive CPR training and certification

    • maneuver through the heart while a surgeon directs their dissection

    • shadow seven departments in a local medical facilities including surgery and the ER

    • receive education about personal choices such as Nutrition, Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Organ Donation and more

    • Tour UAMS campus in Little Rock

    • Much, much more!

Arkansas Anti-Drug Abuse Logo and Slogan Student Contest - Scholarship Award

  • What is it?: A logo and slogan contest for a drug abuse prevention campaign.

  • Awards $500.00, recognition by the governor, state drug director, commissioner of education, attorney general, and the director of the Division of Behavioral Health Services

  • Eligibility: All students 9th - 12th grades

  • Participants may enter individually or in teams of two.  Only one entry is allowed per individual or team.  Individual entrants may not also enter as a member of a team, and team members cannot be members of more than one team.  Each entry must include both a logo and a complementary slogan.  Submissions should be sent by e-mail to

    • ADE.Logo.Contest@arkansas.gov no later than 6 p.m. March 4th.
