The 2016/2017 school year marks our second class of ninth graders to move through the hallways of Vilonia Freshman Academy. During our inaugural year, we took student representatives to the Student Voice Institute, a leadership opportunity offered by the Arkansas Leadership Academy to a select number of schools in our state. At this institute we learned the value of the collaborative relationship that should exist between students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
We came back committed to developing these relationships by taking the message we heard and sharing it with our students and teachers. This year we have been given another opportunity to take a team of students from VFA to the Student Voice Institute on October 18 and 19. We are excited about the opportunity we have been given to build the leadership capacity among our student body by attending this institute.
The information gained will be brought back to VFA and shared with our Student Advisory Team, our teachers, and parents to help make VFA the best possible school it can be. Our team members this year are Brittany Gibson, Savannah Lane, Colin Ratliff, Mrs. Loyd, and Mr. Simmons.
