Celebrating 50 days of school Monday, the theme at Vilonia Elementary School, was VES Rocks. Some of the teachers as well as the students wore poodle skirts. Others wore white T-shirts and rolled up jeans—both boys and girls. As a part of the celebration, in the afternoon second graders watched Woody Woodpecker cartoons, played jacks, hoola hooped, sculptured with Play Doh and participated in a bubblegum blowing contest. They also did the limbo to Elvis music and sipped on coke floats. Students also participated in Red Ribbon Week.
