Saturday night Halloween event open to the public

--This is not a school sanctioned event but one that students, staff and teachers may be interested in attending.

The city of Vilonia and the Museum of Veterans and Military History, 53 N. Mt. Olive in Vilonia,  have teamed up to present an evening of Halloween fun for all ages.

Here's the event schedule for Saturday night's (Oct. 29) Boo at the Museum.
Event begins at 5:30
--Museum will be open for touring from 5:30 to about 9 p.m.
--Civil War Cemetery Walk 6 p.m. to about 7 p.m., led by local Civil War historian Robert Swain (at museum) No charge. This is geared toward older children and adults. It will feature Arkansas Civil War stories of 10 soldiers.
--Moon Walk for the little ones 5:30 to about 6:15 sponsored by Sharon Messer (at the museum) no charge
--Haunted Hayride 6 p.m. until about 7 p.m. for the little ones and not too scary (sponsored by the Vilonia Fire Department) no charge
8 p.m. until about 9 p.m. hayride for the bigger kids (sponsored by the Vilonia Fire Department) no charge
--Movie in the museum's  barn 8 p.m. until it is over (an Ernest movie) sponsored by Shane Dyson (no charge)
--Zombie Dash 7 p.m. at the museum (two runs) one for the younger kids and one for older kids as well as grownups. The only charge is for those entering the Zombie Dash. You need to be pre-registered by 6:45 and there will be a $5 charge. The winners will receive a Zombie Survival basket.
--Trunk or Treating (Costume Contest) sponsored by the city of Vilonia at  6 p.m. until about 7 p.m. 6:45 Costume Contest winner announced. This event will be held at the softball complex (next to the museum).
