The hallways at Vilonia Elementary School, Friday morning, were filled with patriotic staff and students welcoming the dozen or more veterans who participated in their hall honor parade. Students' artworkwas on walls. As well, they held posters and banners paying tribute to the veterans and their service. The ages of the veterans were as varied as the branches of their service.
There were salutes, smiles, hugs and high fives. Patriotic music sounded outside as the veterans made their way from building to building.
Afterward, the veterans were treated to donuts and coffee in the cafeteria and the artwork and banners were presented to veterans representing the Museum of Veterans and Military History in Vilonia.
