Veterans Day program at Vilonia museum includes many students

--This is not a school sanctioned event but one that may be of interest to students, staff and parents.

The Vilonia High School Ceremony Band will be performing in  the Veterans Day program which begins at 11:30 a.m.,  Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Museum of Veterans, 53 N. Mt. Olive in Vilonia. Also, other students will be in a part of the program.  Student Anastacia Heer will sing the National Anthem. VES student Braden Eason will present the museum with a flag. There will be speakers and 100 veterans will post flags for fallen soldiers. There is no charge for the program and it is open to the public. It is anticipated to end at about 12:15.

A 5K Honor Run/Walk will be held at 10 a.m. Registration is still open for this event. Late registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, at the Vilonia city softball/soccer complex next to the museum. The cost for participating in the run is $20.  Some students and parents are signed up to participate in it. Coach John Allison and Coach Keith Rorie will be doing the timing. Coach Allison, a veteran, will also post a flag.
