VES first graders learn about the election process

First graders at VES, recently, learned about the election process. They used the book Duck for President by Doreen Cronin as a guide. The students learned about voting qualifications as well as they "registered" to vote. They also made campaign posters.

The presidential candidates on the ballot were Duck and Farmer Brown. The event ended with an election countdown where the results were announced and students celebrated with a red, white and blue popsicle. A final tally, the clear winner was Duck with 101 votes compared to  Farmer Brown with 16 votes.
