Second graders at VES sang Merry Christmas and Welcome to America, Thursday, in their patriotic performance of Yankee Doodle’s Dandy Christmas. The play began where Yankee Doodle had no Christmas spirit due to a tooth ache until a trusty and reliable dentist entered the scene and took care of the extraction. Also, Christmas Spirit made an appearance and helped to fill the hearts of some on stage with joy. One student with an angelic voice delivered an outstanding solo.
Teachers Melissa Ricketts and Lara Renfroe spent hours after school, along with students, on the production end. Parents also lent a helping hand providing the costumes. McBee conducted the music for the event.
