Principal Ronnie Simmons and the office staff are showing favoritism to a new staff member who has only been on the payroll for about three weeks. In fact, some are referring to her as the teacher’s pet. Her name is Millie and she spends her nights at Mr. Simmons’ house living with his family.
Millie is a 12-week-old Golden Doodle. There are plans for her to be certified as a therapy dog. Although she has only been on staff for about three weeks, her co-workers said, she is observant, a quick learner and is performing her job well. Ultimately, her role is to love and to be loved on and to calm down students.
Simmons said her name is appropriate meaning “one who brings comfort.”
