Arkansas Post of the Society of American Military Engineers Scholarships

 

  • DEADLINE – April 8 , 2016

  • A minimum of two $2,000 scholarships; preference will be given to students

who have previously attended/completed one of the SAME Engineering camps.

  • What to do: pick up an application packet in the counselor’s office, submit a

letter of recommendation from a math or science teacher, submit a 200 word essay explaining why the student wishes to study architecture or construction-related engineering and why receiving this scholarship is critical to achieving their continuing education goals, and a transcript.

Arkansas Society of Professional Engineers - Central Chapter

  • DEADLINE: May 13, 2016

  • Awards:  $1000.00

  • Eligibility requirements: High school senior, have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, a minimum SAT of 500 math and 450 verbal or ACT of 25 math and 23 English, and intend to earn a degree in engineering and attend an ABET accredited university.

Associated General Contractors of America, Inc.

  • DEADLINE: June 1, 2016

  • Criteria: Graduating senior interested in construction or related fields (engineering, architecture, etc.)

R. Preston Woodruff, Jr. Scholarship

The Arkansas Student Loan Authority awards a minimum of twenty $1,000 scholarships each year to seniors and current college students in Arkansas.  Each year, one of the scholarships drawn will be renewable for up to four years.  Counselors, please have your seniors enter the scholarship drawing here or visit http://www.fundmyfuture.info/ScholarshipSearch/WoodruffScholarship

 

 

Toad Suck Daze Scholarship

  • DEADLINE: April 1, 2016

  • Applicant must be a graduate of a Faulkner County high school, homeschooled and living within a Faulkner County school district, or currently enrolled at CBC, Hendrix, UCA, or UACCM having had graduated from a Faulkner County high school.

  • Applicant must attend CBC, Hendrix, UCA, or UACCM during the upcoming Fall Term.

  • Applicant must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, based on a 4.0 scale.

  • Applicant must show proof of completing at least 20 hours of volunteer service while in high school (downloadable log sheet provided with application).

  • Applicant must submit a one page essay describing the volunteer service contributed to the community, how and why it benefitted the community, and what was learned.

  • Applicant must include three letters of recommendation: one from a supervisor where applicant provided volunteer service, one from a teacher or other education professional, and one of the applicant’s choosing.

  • Applicant should demonstrate financial need.

  • Scholarship recipients must complete 12 hours of volunteer service at the Toad Suck Daze festival this year.

  • Scholarship application can found on the Arkansas Community Foundation’s scholarship website,www.arcf.org/students/browsescholarships or at www.toadsuck.org/education.  Once on the scholarship website, select the central Arkansas area and scroll down until you find the Toad Suck Daze GetSmart Challenge Scholarship Endowment.  Click on the red pencil beside the name to begin the application process.  You will need to create an account to fill out the application.

 

ASBA Educational Foundation Freshman Scholarship Award

  • DEADLINE: April 1, 2016

  • This scholarship is designed to benefit the sons/daughters of ASBA-affiliated Arkansas school board members who will be entering two-year or four-year Arkansas institutions of higher education.  

  • Four scholarships are awarded annually - one from each of the state’s four congressional districts.

  • Criteria for Consideration

    • recipients must be the sons/daughters of publicly elected Arkansas school board members.

    • Grants will be one-time scholarships to entering freshman at Arkansas 2 or 4 year schools

    • Scholarship amounts will be at least $600 each

    • Scholarships will be awarded based upon academic performance, demonstrated leadership, community involvement, extracurricular activities, special talents or unique endeavors and future educational and career plans.  Financial need may be a consideration.

Faulkner County Master Gardener Scholarship

  • DEADLINE: April 1, 2016

  • This is a scholarship to assist graduating high school seniors, undergraduate and/or graduate students who are residents of   Conway County, Faulkner County, or Perry County, Arkansas.

  • Applicants should be seeking a degree in a plant-science related field, including but not limited to agriculture, agricultural business, agricultural education, biology, botany, forestry, horticulture, landscape architecture/design, plant science, and turf management.

  • The Faulkner County Master Gardeners will award a scholarship in the amount of$1,500 and additional scholarships at the discretion of the scholarship committee. Over $25,000 has been awarded to recipients from 2004-2015. Previous recipients may reapply.

  • Applications and accompanying documents may be submitted in the following ways:

    • electronically through the following link,  www.uaex.edu/counties/faulkner/programs.aspx

    • through the United States Postal Service or using a shipping service such as Federal Express (FedEx) or the United Postal Service (UPS); or   

    • by hand-delivering the application and accompanying documents to the Faulkner County Extension Office.

Mass Group Marketing and the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators

  • DEADLINE: April 15

  • For twenty-two years, Mass Group Marketing (American Public Life) of Plano, Texas and the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators have awarded a  $1,000 scholarship to a son or daughter of an AAEA member. John Beesley, Chief Executive Officer of Mass Group Marketing, established the scholarship in honor of Dr. C. B. Garrison, former Superintendent of the Fort Smith Public Schools.

  • The selection is based on academic excellence, leadership in school activities, work experiences and community service. To access a form that can be completed in Microsoft Word and then printed, please click here.

  • The completed application  must be signed by the high school principal or an appropriate school official and returned no later than April 15, 2016 to the AAEA c/o Garrison Scholarship, 219 South Victory, Little Rock, AR 72201. A panel of AAEA members will judge the applicants and select a winner. Mass Group Marketing will send a $1,000 check to the college or university the winner will attend.

Native American Scholarship Award

  • DEADLINE: April 15

  • Awards: $500

  • Criteria: Must be of documentable Native American descent from a federally recognized tribe.  The documentation required is a CDIB card or tribal enrollment documentation from a federal recognized tribe.  A copy must be furnished with the application.

El Paso Masonic Lodge #65 Scholarship

  • The El Paso Masonic Lodge will be awarding $1,000 to a student going to college or pursuing a technical certification.
