Seniors at VHS turned out for the College and Career Price is Right, Thursday, where they played in the school’s version of the game show and learned about potential career opportunities.
Mr. McCord O’Roy served as the host for the event participating in antics and providing comic relief.
Presenters, representing various businesses, military affiliations and colleges, were set up around the cafeteria. They were also given three minutes on stage to provide information. Those presenting were Shelly Price from UAMCC; Mark Mauney of Baptist Health; Bobby Shock Arkansas Fire Training Academy; Beau Norman of Nabco; Tim Nolan of D&N Construction; Lexicon Management Group; Welding Jobs and training Shannon Gordon; Salon Professional Academy, Laura Mahone; Shelley Sheets of Conway Regional Health; Medlinc’s Melanie Thompson; Todd Shock of Steve’s Automotive; Goose Norwood of Fureigh Electric and Charles Fulmer of Fulmer Electric School. As well, military recruiters representing the Marines, Navy and Army made presentations including Petty Officer Robert Bruneel (USN), Sgt. William R. Law (USMC) and Ssgt. Brent Roberson (US Army).
Students also received “fun money” for answering questions where they spent it on prizes. A hit with the students, they were also rewarded, for answering questions correctly, by allowing them to pie their friends.
