Special recognition ceremony with many honored

There’s a lot of great things happening in the Vilonia School District, said Dr. David Stephens, superintendent, at an award ceremony held Thursday evening in the high school gymnasium.

“There’s a lot of great things going on,” Stephens said. “And, what is going on, is because of the ones here being recognized tonight.”

Names were called and many teachers and staff were recognized for their years of service.  Although he wasn’t in attendance, Ed Sellers, with 45 years, received a standing ovation. A retirement reception will be held for Sellers 2:20 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sunday, May 21, in the high school cafeteria.

After the ceremony, all district employees were invited to attend a fish fry.
