Vilonia Special Olympic students compete showing outstanding sportsmanship

From the desk of Ronnie Simmons, principal FA:

This past Saturday, the Vilonia Special Olympics Unified Team competed in the Meet of Champs at Russellville High School. The Meet of Champs is comprised of athletes from all over Arkansas and they integrated the Unified Teams in the competition. In the Unified competitions, some of the events are individual and some are a pairing of students with a student from the Unified Teams. All of the students on our team for Saturday were VFA students. Here are the results for our students:

Emily Standridge- 1st place shot put

Kaylee Partee- 1st place 200 meter run

Emily and Kaylee- 1st place long jump

Zach Roggenbach- 2nd place 200 meter run

DJ Farrior- 2nd place 400 meter run

Zach and DJ- 1st place long jump

All 4 students in the 4x100 relay- 2nd place

We are extremely proud of how well each student represented Vilonia. They had great attitudes and behavior, outstanding sportsmanship, and most of all they had a blast.
