The Vilonia Primary P.I.T.C.R.E.W. (which stands for People in the Community Reaching, Encouraging and Working toward Student Success) is a parent led organization committed to student success by supporting academic achievement, encouraging character development and providing a safe environment.

Integral parts of the P.I.T.C.R.E.W. include the driver, which is the student; the car, which is the school; the P.I.T. Crew, which is volunteers; the track, which is the curriculum; the sponsors, businesses and individuals and the fans, our community.
Areas of service include: reading with students, organizing games during recess, car loading and unloading, hallway greeters, academic tutoring, serving as a lunch buddy and helping with special events.

General Information:

VPS  P.I.T.  C.R.E.W. held an orientation meeting for sponsors, members and potential members on September 29.  Approximately 25 parents and community members were in attendance to discuss goals for the coming school year and review ways in which the organization has promoted student success. 

Sponsors were recognized for their continued partnership with our school:  Fraternal Order of Police , Lodge 41, Gary Wallace; First Security Bank, Vilonia, Gay Leifer, Liberty Church of Christ, Johnathan House, VPS PTO, Kathleen Ruther. 

Future activities for the coming school year include:  American Red Cross Blood Drive, October 28; Red Ribbon Week, Oct. 27-31; Care & Share Food Drive, November 3-7; Pancakes with Santa Breakfast December 6; Take the Challenge - Turn Screens Off - in March 2015.

Ms. Lyra's kindergarten class won a popsicle party with the most representation at the September meeting.
