The perfect team.
The Vilonia Board of Education meets at 6 p.m., every second Monday of the month at the administration office. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
The Vilonia Board of Education is an elected council that helps to determine educational policy in the school district as well as lead the way regarding building projects. However, the Board also shares the power with the state Department of Education. Members of the Vilonia Board are visible in the community. They attend school functions; they eat in Vilonia restaurants, bank in Vilonia and shop at the local businesses. They are peers, friends and neighbors. Some have children who attend the school; others have children who have graduated. To serve there is only requirement and that is to work for the betterment of the school district. There’s no monetary pay but there’s wealth in serving through knowing one is making a difference.
On the current board, there is variety. There’s experience and new blood. Those with experience serve as sounding boards and even mentors. Those with less experience are able to view business and management issues from different perspectives and draw on knowledge gained from situations encountered.
