Vilonia JV Cheerleaders Attend UCA Cheer Camp
The Vilonia Junior Varsity Cheerleaders attended camp last week with the Universal Cheerleader Association at the University of Central Arkansas. While at camp cheerleaders were trained in safety, leadership, and the roles of a cheerleader. They learned cheers, chants, and dances, as well as prepared both a Game Day and Rally Routine.
Recognized for their hard work and skills, the team earned several awards including trophies for Rally Routine Camp Champion, Game Day Overall Champion, and Cheer Camp Champion for the junior high division. The team won a spirit stick every night and brought one home. The team earned both Gold and Blue Superior ribbons.
Individual achievements were also earned. Caroline Outlaw won a jump off award, and Mallory Reeves, Alissa Gordon, and Avery Canady were named All-American cheerleaders.
Members of the team included: Alissa Gordon, Mallory Reeves, Caroline Outlaw, Bailey Garrison, Jaden DeLoach, and Cheyenne Barton, all 9th graders. The 8th graders included: Hannah Atelevich, Abby Beaty, Abbie Beene, Ava Bell, Avery Canady, Alexis Casey, Karleigh Douglas, Peyton English, Kaylee Forthman, Jordan Jones, Karsen King, Ashlyn Schultz, Breanna Wright-Pannell, and Caylea Wyles. The team was coached by Judy Cox and Morgan Humbard.
