See the message below from the Faulkner County Animal Shelter regarding our fourth graders at FMIS. Way to go Teachers and Students!
"We want to shine a spotlight on our new friends at Frank Mitchell Intermediate School! Their students have been working diligently to create thoughtful and creative ways to help our shelter pets find homes for the holidays. Not only did they spend time asking our staff questions to better understand the animals in our care, but they also visited the shelter to meet them in person.
To top it all off, they created wonderful pet profiles complete with original artwork. Be sure to keep an eye on these up-and-coming young ladies and gentlemen. They were respectful, curious, and engaged, and we can easily see many of them becoming valuable volunteers in the future.
When you visit the shelter, take your time walking down the hall toward the kennels. You just might spot a new companion who steals your heart.
Some of the displayed artwork and information feature animals who have already been adopted. If you are one of those proud new pet owners, the students would be happy for you to take the artwork created for your pet as a keepsake. For animals still awaiting adoption, their matching artwork may also go home with them once they find their families.
Thank you again to the students of Frank Mitchell Intermediate School. We truly appreciate your kindness and creativity and hope to see you all again soon."

Exciting things are coming to our Vilonia School District App! If you don't already have it, download it today!

As a reminder, all visitors including those wanting to check out a student must present a photo ID upon entering the campus waiting areas. Any on campus visitor must check in on the iPad set up in the waiting area. Parents only wishing to check in or check out their student, will continue to follow the same procedure by presenting your ID(checking out a student) and using the iPad to check in or out. Our front office staff will assist with any questions you may have.
Again, please ensure that you bring a valid photo ID when entering any of the buildings. For the safety and security of our students, all visitors (whether picking up a child, attending a meeting, volunteering, or signing in for any purpose) are required to present photo identification upon entry.
Thank you for your cooperation and for supporting our commitment to maintaining a safe school environment.

Way to go to our VHS Wrestling Team in their recent tournament! Vilonia placed in the Top 5 and several athletes were crowned champion in their weight division! Great job!

Dr. Adams found himself in a friendly game of Chess this morning!

Our Vilonia Band Department and Choir Department will be hosting their holiday concerts soon. These are always so wonderful! If you would like to hear sounds of the season, be sure and attend one or both of these events!

With winter weather season upon us, we want to make sure you know where to find the most up-to-date information regarding school closings, dismissals, and/or delays. Vilonia School District will notify families and staff by mass text notification, District social media accounts, the District website, and mass email notification. The District will also notify local TV stations as well. If you are not receiving mass notifications, contact your student’s school office to update your phone number/email. We strongly encourage parents to have a plan in place in case of any closures. We are hopeful for a smooth winter season!

Congratulations to VHS Senior Katie Bates for recently being selected to play in the 5A-6A All Star Volleyball Game. The game took place over the holiday break. Way to go, Katie!

VHS MILITARY CLUB VISITS VETERANS HOME
The VHS Military Club visited Gunter's Veterans Home last week. The students made cookie bags and homemade cards to hand out to the 9 veteran residents at the facility. Both the students and residents enjoyed the visit and the company. Some of the residents may not have received visitors during the Thanksgiving holiday. So it was an honor to be able to take part in this opportunity.

Our cafeterias were filled with BIG SMILES and WARM BELLIES across our district yesterday! Thank you so much to our Food Service Department for the incredible spread they provided at each of our campuses. You guys rock!
