WINTER WEATHER ANNOUNCEMENT
At this time, there seems to be a convergence regarding the commencement of this winter weather event, with most forecasts indicating that the start to be Friday, late afternoon, or early evening. As such, we plan to have school on Friday(1/23/26). However, it is important that you be prepared if we need to dismiss school early. If that is to occur, we will notify you via all our communication avenues of any early dismissal times. We will continue to closely monitor the forecast not only for tomorrow but also for this weekend and into next week. Decisions will be made on a day-by-day basis and communicated to families as early as possible. We appreciate your understanding as we strive to keep our students and staff safe!

VSD Families, we are monitoring the potential winter weather and will take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of students and staff. Vilonia School District will notify families and staff of school closures, dismissals, or delays by mass text notification, District social media accounts, the District website, and mass email notification. If you are not receiving mass notifications, contact your student’s school office to update your phone number/email. We strongly encourage parents to have a plan in place in case of any closures/early dismissals. We thank you in advance and hope everyone remains safe and warm!

-To enter, students must submit a traditional or digital drawing or painting with an image representing “Imagine a day at school where toys come to life. What would your day look like?”
-The contest ends on March 1 at 8:00 pm Eastern Time.
-The top five finalists in each Grade Group will be featured on ESS’ Facebook and Instagram for public voting during the week of April 6.
-Public voting ends on April 12 at 8:00 pm Eastern Time.
-Winners will be announced on April 15.
-Winning students will receive a $500 American Express gift card, plus $500 for their school.

Over the break our VHS Basketball teams played in tournaments and did great! Congrats to our Lady Eagles for placing 4th out of 32 teams in the Sandra Meadows Tournament in Texas! And way to go Eagles for placing Runner-Up in the Harrison Christmas tournament! We are so proud!
