🍪 Celebrating Generosity at FMIS! ☕️
Today, our fifth graders enjoyed a special treat of cookies and hot chocolate, thanks to the amazing volunteers from our local food bank!
Fifth grade brought in the most canned goods during our school-wide food drive in November. Our students' hard work and big hearts helped support over 60 families right here in our community. ❤️
A huge thank you to our partners at the food bank for rewarding our students and showing them the power of giving back. We are so proud of our Eagles! 🦅💫

🌟 FMIS December Character Assembly! 🌟
This month, we celebrated students who exemplify Thinking Win-Win and Respect—two habits that help us learn, lead, and lift one another every day. 🤝✨
Congratulations to our December Character Students:
Carter White, Sullivan Blakemore, Brinley Hibbard, Kyler Davis, and Giah Valencia
We were honored to welcome Coach Buck Bing, VHS Dean of Students and Vilonia Eagle Football Defensive Coordinator, as our special guest. Coach Bing shared an inspiring message about striving for collective success and choosing actions that help everyone win—on the field and in the classroom. 🏈🔥
Students, teachers, and Coach Bing then faced off in the Win-Win Wobble Challenge! 🎯
Teams worked together to move a wiffle ball across a set distance using a paper plate suspended by yarn. With each person holding a piece of the yarn, teams had to communicate clearly, move with purpose, and support one another to keep the ball balanced. When the ball dropped, teams regrouped and strategized—showing exactly what Think Win-Win looks like in action.
After an exciting and cooperative competition, Fourth Grade rose to the top and took home the victory! 🏆🙌
Check out the photos below to see teamwork, balance, and lots of December energy in action! 📸

📚 Happy 67th Day of School! 🎉
Today, our fourth grade literacy classes celebrated with a fun and creative literacy activity! Students brought the books they’re currently reading and tried to convince their classmates that their book was the best—all by reading page 67 in honor of our 67th day of school. It was so much fun hearing their dramatic readings, persuasive pitches, and the excitement they shared about their stories. We love seeing our kids grow as readers and communicators! ❤️📖

📝✨ FMIS Sixth Grade Detectives at Work! ✨📝
Our sixth grade literacy classes have jumped into argumentative writing with a fascinating mystery — the death of King Tut! 👑🗺️
Students are investigating clues, analyzing evidence, and building strong arguments to support their own theories about how King Tut may have died. It’s been incredible watching them think critically, cite evidence, and debate their ideas like true historians and writers!
We love seeing our students so engaged, curious, and excited about learning! 🔍📚💬
Great job, sixth graders! Keep digging for the truth! 👏👏

VES HELD DONUTS WITH DADS LAST WEEK

CLUE IN TO SCHOOL BREAKFAST
National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) celebrates the importance of a nutritious school breakfast in fueling students for success. This special observance during the first week of March celebrates the national School Breakfast Program and the many ways it gives kids a great start every day!
Did you know children who eat breakfast are more likely to…
Reach higher levels of achievement in reading and math
Score higher on standardized tests
Have better concentration and memory
Be more alert and maintain a healthy weight
Have better attendance
Have fewer behavior problems

CELBRATE THIS WEEK FOR READ ACROSS AMERICA
March 2 is Read Across America Day, a day to celebrate our favorite activity. The day was established by the National Education Association (NEA) in 1998 to help get kids excited about reading. The day occurs each year on the birthday of beloved children’s book author Dr. Seuss, so a perfect way to celebrate is to don a Seussian hat and read one his famous tales, like One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. On National Read Across America Day, students, teachers, parents, and community members around the nation come together to read books and celebrate the joy of reading — join us!
