📚 Happy 67th Day of School! 🎉
Today, our fourth grade literacy classes celebrated with a fun and creative literacy activity! Students brought the books they’re currently reading and tried to convince their classmates that their book was the best—all by reading page 67 in honor of our 67th day of school. It was so much fun hearing their dramatic readings, persuasive pitches, and the excitement they shared about their stories. We love seeing our kids grow as readers and communicators! ❤️📖

📝✨ FMIS Sixth Grade Detectives at Work! ✨📝
Our sixth grade literacy classes have jumped into argumentative writing with a fascinating mystery — the death of King Tut! 👑🗺️
Students are investigating clues, analyzing evidence, and building strong arguments to support their own theories about how King Tut may have died. It’s been incredible watching them think critically, cite evidence, and debate their ideas like true historians and writers!
We love seeing our students so engaged, curious, and excited about learning! 🔍📚💬
Great job, sixth graders! Keep digging for the truth! 👏👏

CLUE IN TO SCHOOL BREAKFAST
National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) celebrates the importance of a nutritious school breakfast in fueling students for success. This special observance during the first week of March celebrates the national School Breakfast Program and the many ways it gives kids a great start every day!
Did you know children who eat breakfast are more likely to…
Reach higher levels of achievement in reading and math
Score higher on standardized tests
Have better concentration and memory
Be more alert and maintain a healthy weight
Have better attendance
Have fewer behavior problems

CELBRATE THIS WEEK FOR READ ACROSS AMERICA
March 2 is Read Across America Day, a day to celebrate our favorite activity. The day was established by the National Education Association (NEA) in 1998 to help get kids excited about reading. The day occurs each year on the birthday of beloved children’s book author Dr. Seuss, so a perfect way to celebrate is to don a Seussian hat and read one his famous tales, like One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. On National Read Across America Day, students, teachers, parents, and community members around the nation come together to read books and celebrate the joy of reading — join us!
