Mrs. Polen’s Art 1 classes dove headfirst into their paper mâché underwater creature project, “Swimming into Summer,” and the results are anything but ordinary. From tiny, quirky sea critters to absolutely GIANT ocean beasts, students were given the freedom to dream big and create whatever they imagined.
There were no limits on size, style, or creativity—just a classroom full of bold ideas and a little bit of messy magic. Mrs. Polen served as their deep-sea guide, helping bring each unique vision to life along the way. 🌊💙

This spring, our 9th grade physical science classes had the opportunity to hear from retired Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Polcar. As students explored forces and motion, it was the perfect way to bring their learning to life—hearing directly from a pilot who applies these concepts every day in his career.

Inspired by the bold, fragmented style of Georges Braque, our Art 1 students explored the Cubism movement through a modern lens! Just as early Cubist artists were influenced by musical instruments, our students took it a step further—drawing inspiration from the music that speaks to them today.
From layered guitars to album covers with inspiring lyrics, each piece reflects personal rhythm, energy, and creativity. These artworks show how music isn’t just something we hear—it’s something we see and feel.
