🎶🎨 “Music Shapes Our Lives” 🎨🎶
Inspired by the bold, fragmented style of Georges Braque, our Art 1 students explored the Cubism movement through a modern lens! Just as early Cubist artists were influenced by musical instruments, our students took it a step further—drawing inspiration from the music that speaks to them today.
From layered guitars to album covers with inspiring lyrics, each piece reflects personal rhythm, energy, and creativity. These artworks show how music isn’t just something we hear—it’s something we see and feel.
🎵 Different songs.
🎨 Different styles.
❤️ One powerful message: Music truly shapes our lives.

Art 1 had one mission yesterday: take it outside and lift some spirits! ☀️🎨
With testing season in full swing, students covered the sidewalks with colorful chalk and plenty of punny encouragement—because sometimes a good laugh is exactly what you need before a big test. Think: “You’re o-fish-ally going to do great!” and “Donut stress, do your best!” 🍩🐟

Spring has officially arrived in our hallways! 🌸🐦
Our Art 1 students have been hard at work creating beautiful watercolor birds, bringing color, creativity, and a little bit of sunshine to our space. Each piece is full of personality and shows off their growing skills with watercolor techniques.
A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Otts for beautifully displaying their work on her hallway bulletin board—we appreciate you helping us showcase our talented artists! 💛🎨
Be sure to take a stroll and enjoy this flock of creativity! ✨ #StudentArt #ArtInBloom #WatercolorMagic

Vilonia Junior High School is preparing to screen eighth grade students for scoliosis and body mass index on April 7 & 8, 2026. Although all screenings are encouraged, this notice is being issued in order for parents and guardians to have the opportunity to opt out of screenings for their student, if they feel the need to do so. A letter was sent home with all eight grade students today so that any parent wishing to opt out can sign and return the objection form. Please return this form no later than April 7, 2026. Students without an objection form will be screened pursuant to Arkansas state law. Please contact the VJHS school nurse with any questions or concerns.
