🎨✨ Our Halls are Drippy ✨🎨
Our art students recently learned about the incredible artist Jen Stark, known for her colorful, mesmerizing artwork, bold lines, patterns, and optical illusions that make your eyes feel like they’re moving!
After studying Stark’s unique style, our students put their own spin on her signature dripping designs. Each student created their own colorful section, and when put together, their artwork transformed into one BIG, eye-catching display! 🌈🌀
This project was all about line, pattern, color, movement, and optical illusion—and our students absolutely made it their own!
I LOVE seeing what happens when individual pieces come together to create something bigger than themselves. ❤️🖤🤍
✨ Art is everywhere—even when it’s DRIPPING down the wall! ✨

🎨 THE MONA LISA… REIMAGINED! 🎨
What would the Mona Lisa look like if she lived in today’s world? 🤔✨
Our VJHS Art students took Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic masterpiece and gave her a modern-day makeover! Instead of simply recreating the original, students were challenged to imagine who Mona Lisa might be if she were living in 2026.
From sports and hobbies to careers, fashion, pets, and everyday life, each student created their own unique version of Mona Lisa—showing that art can connect the past to the present in so many creative ways! 🖌️
I absolutely LOVE seeing the personalities and ideas that our students brought into these pieces. There may be only one original Mona Lisa, but our Eagles proved there are endless ways to reimagine her! ❤️🖤
✨ Different era. Same icon. Endless creativity. ✨
Great job, VJHS Art! 🦅🎨

🌊🐠 Swimming into Summer… creativity runs wild! 🐙✨
Mrs. Polen’s Art 1 classes dove headfirst into their paper mâché underwater creature project, “Swimming into Summer,” and the results are anything but ordinary. From tiny, quirky sea critters to absolutely GIANT ocean beasts, students were given the freedom to dream big and create whatever they imagined.
There were no limits on size, style, or creativity—just a classroom full of bold ideas and a little bit of messy magic. Mrs. Polen served as their deep-sea guide, helping bring each unique vision to life along the way. 🌊💙
This ocean? It’s overflowing with personality. 🐟🎨 #SwimmingIntoSummer #ArtInAction #CreativeChaos

This spring, our 9th grade physical science classes had the opportunity to hear from retired Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Polcar. As students explored forces and motion, it was the perfect way to bring their learning to life—hearing directly from a pilot who applies these concepts every day in his career.
Thank you, Mr. Polcar, for sharing your experience, knowledge, and insights with our students and for inspiring the next generation of scientists!
